i dont know why but when i played halo 2 the sword wasnt that strong but i went on xbox live with halo 3 with the sword and i owned every one what do you think? is the halo 3 sword stronger than the one in halo 2 or has no one else noticed the difference?

if its anything it has gotten weaker. Its lounge is way lower, and it has ammo. its weaker!! if anything

not to mention, two people using sword on each other just bounce off one another.

I'm certainly better with the one in Halo 3... As for why I dont know.

Its something about the pace of the game that makes it more effective to me.

yes it is definatly weaker seeing is how you also have the addition of the gravity hammer which can overpower the sword and does not cancel with the sword!

i think it got weaker from halo 2

Halo 2 sword pwnd. They weakened it deffinetly.

if you get into the sword thing wear you just keep swinging and bouncing off, try hitting b instead of r so you can deflect there attack and quickly attack again=)

no its actually weaker but now you can block if 2 players go at same time

the sword doesnt kill when you jump and dash or is that just me being really bad with a sword

yeah h3 swords sucks. and the sword cancel is ridiculous. i would be happier without one

if it didn't have that sword cancel then it would be like halo 2 where you just hoped that your connection was the stronger of the two

Well Like someone else said on this thread you can deflect the cancellation and attack faster if you press B instead of the right trigger!

no but when you have a person trying to attack you with a sword you can parry the attack by pressing melee(B) and if you time it right you can block it

never heard of this all i know is i own with this sword just wanted to see if it was the same for others.

It seems pretty equal. The lunge is still a one hit kill most of the time.But the melee is way worse.

well looks like almost every one thinks the halo 3 sword is a piece of crap rolled in a piece of crap garnished with crap sprinkles....

the sword is stronger but u habe to closer to enemy not like in H2
and it has ammo that are some nice s counter parts so no one now
can kill 15 to 20 in a row with the sword it s stronger but weaker

Idk about B blocking but i know R-B can end battles if done proberly its like bxr tho hit R and then B at the right times and you will block then kill them because recovery rate from melle is lower then sword recovery rate But its stupid ruins the hole point of tactics in sword battles.

Wow, just wow, you NEVER use the sword eh? So um, I guess on those matches that I recoreded, such as that one Oddball match, you NEVER used the sword! More like you used it all the time! Guess that makes you a n00b then eh? I mean, you used it an all, and if it is on Halo 3, of course you never have, you only played the Beta, which didnt allow the sword unless you did the trick that let you do the custom games lobby thing. Which I'm pretty sure you never used, so yeah........ Not trying to burn you or anything, but you should reall, really think before you post stuff like that Petey.........

without trying youve burned him so bad he should be in intensive care <offers maverick some ice>. oh and as to using the sword i do it alot, but only in conjunction with other wepons, specially if im doing a random weapons game...but i dont know bout the added power coz i had to play with a handicap before, and i cant in halo 3...

I like the sword bounce thing. I hated that in H2 it was just luck if you got there first. I think that it's better than H2; bungie did a good job with it in my opinion.

what is up with everyone worried about the sword? i think it stinks anyway but i use it when i play infection thats all. cuz when i have a shotty i'll kill you in mid lunge and get 2 medals.. so i dont like it any more :cool:

no animation cancels found...
and you can only kill someone [if they have full shield] with the sword if your reticule is red, and they dont slice you with a sword at the same time.

aww i feel like i play slower if i have to watch animations on every weapon
