since the theme of this month has been about the presidential election, i thought this was appropriate.
in your mind, who was the best presidents the states have ever had? who is the worst we have ever had?
if you have the time, support your choices, because i really don't want to ask 'why' after every post.

Reagan is top 5 because of the way he was able to stare down the soviet union and eventually cause them to fold. FDR is also top 5 for his genious handling of WWII. Obama has the potential to be the best president, partly because of his demenor and ideals, but mostly because this is the most trying time in american history if he can find a way to fix even half of the problems presented to us at this time it will be an enormous accomplishment.
Worst president: Bush Jr. and Jimmie Carter. Neither was very intelligent, both decided to write a book after their presidency that no one will read because they are both to ignorant to write an intelligent book. (bush hasn't written it yet but has plans to do so) I might buy bush's book... only because I assume it will be cheaper than a roll of toilet paper. I currently use old newspapers with his picture on the front page.

Gorbachev got the ball rolling for the USSRs collapse, not Reagan.
And since when was a bomb which people are still dying from a good idea?

Abraham Lincoln! Because he ended slavery!
I thought Bill Clinton was pretty cool to. We had a better economy with him I think. Well, that's what I heard at least...
I haven't picked out a worst president yet. Waiting to see how Obama does....

one of the best presidents is probably FDR. he got us out of the great depression which was of course, huge. helped stop nazi germany form taking over europe. he's atleast one of the candidates.
for the worst, andrew jackson sucked some major ass. hence, he pulled the "i'm average just like you." he though anyone could run the country so he installed the spoils system which took jobs away from officials in the government and put his friends in there so they could agree with everything he suggested. he put us in a huge economic turmoil because he took all the money away from federal banks and moved them into state banks who loaned the money out and the people couldn't repay them. that fucked us up big time. he also gave the indians there own land and as soon as he found out that there was gold in that area, he kicked them out again and put them in oklahoma(i.e. Trail of Tears.) he should be remembered as a great general not a pres.

Obviously the colapse of the USSR was based on its own leadership's decisions, what I was saying was that the soviets were forced into those decisions to try and keep up with what the USA was doing under reagan's leadership. Reagan never backed down and eventually outlasted the USSR's Financial means and the USSR crumbled.
As for FDR and the bomb. FDR was dead months before it was used. he died in April 1945, the bomb was used Aug 1945 so if you want to blame a US president for the bomb take a look at truman. Also it helped end one of the bloodiest and longest wars in the history of this world. So I would think it was the right decision. If you want to talk about bombing that shouldnt have happened look no further than the Iraq war.

Thanks.
George Washington. He turned down the presidency when it was first offered to him, and only took it when they all insisted he take the position. I see him as the only real president of the United States. Most of the ones after him stank (except for maybe Lincoln and one of the Roosevelt's.)

George Washington, Franklin D Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln
the pretty much sums it up..
George Washington- True president who led by example and started the country off right..
Abraham Lincoln- Even during the Civil War, there was not much he could do, but he helped out both the North and the South in whatever way he could.. Ended slavery.. Yes, a Republican, ended slavery, so thank the Republicans for this.. the Democrats wanted expansion of slavery.. Lincoln opposed this and made it clear that we are equal :)
Ronald Reagan- Brought an end to the cold war and other things..
Franklin D Roosevelt- Brought the "New Deal" which changed America.. Helped bring an end to the Great Depression.. and other things..
Well, that's my opinion on best presidents.. Truman was all right, but tbh, FDR did most of the work for him and all he had to do was go by his plan >.>
