Riley stood calmly in the armory of the UNSC Cruiser Cherokee, watching his team stock up on weapons. They were going to go down to the surface of New Mombasa in three hours via drop pod and help repel the Covenant invaders.
Riley, Jinx, and Zephyrus were going to be augmented by a dozen soldiers from the 62nd ODST division on the ground, as well as several Longsword attack fighters in the air. Even so, Riley didn’t like the odds. The Covenant would likely have Scarabs patrolling the city, and Banshees providing firing support. This overlooking the fact they had easily twenty thousand soldiers on the ground; all poised for human blood.
The Spartan stocked up on grenades, grabbed a BR55, and liberated a brand new M90 shotgun from a military supply crate. Riley placed his two weapons in a duffel bag, hooked the grenades to the munitions belt of his MJOLNIR VI armor, and grabbed several extra clips for good measure. Lastly, he grabbed a combat knife and placed it securely on his belt as a last resort. Chances were, if he got that close to the enemy, he was going home in a coffin.
Zephyrus chose a Battle Rifle and a Jackhammer Launcher, while Jinx chose an S2-AM sniper rifle and an M6D pistol as a backup. The ODSTs picked their weapons and joined the Spartans, who were now ready for battle. Soon, the time would come…
